Process of Purchasing Custom Bedding & Other items

I often get the question of "Can I get this quilt, but I would like to change out a few of the colors/fabrics?  How will I know if I like it?"

The answer is simple, I always email a picture of a custom quilt, rail cover, or car seat canopy, or whatever} before I sew it up. Or I can make you a mock up of some items so you can see before you purchase.

Over the years {11 to be exact}, I have custom made many, many, many crib bedding, quilts, blankets, car seat canopies & many other items.  Through that experience I have found a system that seems to work really great for the customer, and for myself.  This little handmade business machine has become well oiled with a simple process.

So, if you are wondering what happens after you've clicked "order"  Here it is!

Your order has been added to a queue of orders.  At any given time I have between 10-50 open orders.  The current processing times will vary depending on how many open orders I have and what they are. I will keep the processing times page updated with the current turn around times.

I work on multiple orders at once and batch cut out bedding pieces and other items a couple times a week.  Once your item pieces have been cut out and laid out on, you will be receiving an email from me at thecreativeraccon.com@gmail.com. Or once your mockup has been made I will email you a picture.

Step 2: The waiting time....this is most of the time the longest time of the process. Once you receive your email you will be able to make any changes that you would like to the item piece(s).  If there is a fabric you don't love, let me know.  If there are too many of one pattern in one area, let me know.  I will make the appropriate changes and email you a new updated picture or mockup. On rail covers you can change the color if ties, so be sure to let me know of any changes.

Once the items have been approved, then it will get sewn up. Your bedding pieces will now be shipped to you via USPS.  Most items are shipped via priority mail, and your tracking number will be emailed to the email that you associated with your purchase. I do my best to keep you informed along every step of the way.

If you have any questions along the way, feel free to email me at thecreativeraccoon.com@gmail.com and I will get back with you in 24-48 hours. I try to be quick in my responses, but keep in mind that in order for me to work on orders in the queue, I may be slow to respond.

Custom Raccoon Quilt originally made for a new customer. They picked all the fabrics they wanted for the quilt.
